    Excretory System - Explanation :

Everyday our body takes in food, water and air. These are necessary to grow and to get energy. But our body cannot use all of the things. The leftover material is known as waste. Now this waste needs to come out of the body if we want to remain healthy.

There are 3 ways in which our body gets rid of this waste. First one is breathing out; by breathing out we exhale carbon dioxide. The other way is when we go to pee, liquid waste is released. Last one is when you poop, solid waste comes out of your body.

Human excretory system plays the critical role of ridding the body of waste material. Skin along with sweat gland , the lungs and the kidneys are the key organs of the excretory system. Important parts and Functions:

    Kidneys:

These are 2 bean shaped organs. Kidneys constantly filter about 170 to 200 liters of blood every day to produce about 1.5 to 2 liters of urine. Kidneys are responsible for removing salts and other waste materials from the body. They also filter blood which results in the release of urine.

    Urinary Bladder:

Once kidneys prepare the urine, it goes to urinary bladder. Bladder temporarily stores urine until it is released from the body/

    Ureters:

These are 2 tube- like structures connecting Kidneys with urinary bladder. Ureters carry urine (waste liquid) from the kidneys to the urinary bladder.

    Urethra:

The urethra is the tube that transfers urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.
